The 2022 National Poultry & Pigeon Show Countdown Newsletter 1

(sent out Dec 2021)

A very warm welcome and seasons greetings from the CDPPC exec.

This is the first of our monthly newsletters to be distributed in the build up to hosting our first ever National Poultry & Pigeon Show to be held at the Horowhenua Events Centre, Victoria St, Levin on the 1st ,2nd and 3rd July 2022.

We are extremely excited & honoured to be given this opportunity by the North Island Association.

We can assure you, as per our logo, (CDCD) Central Districts, Completely Different – will be the case with this National show.

We will highlight some of the programme with more details to follow…

  • Judging will follow a new tiered format. To highlight and promote a wider range of breeds per group. In this format, Juniors will be included in the Group judging and therefore eligible for Best in Show.

  • Top notch venue and entertainment

  • A well known TV personality who we’ve engaged to make sure everyone gets a fair go

  • Major prize winners may even get to walk the red carpet! (get your sashaying shoes ready)

  • Games night entertainment led by Poker Island finalist – Kyle (Killer) Clark - if you think you’re good enough to take him down, come and try!

  • We are sending out complimentary VIP invites to past exhibitors/judges and contributors to the CDPPC Club, that are no longer currently involved as a way to thank them and try to encourage them back into the fold

  • Come and be part of the meet and greet of these people and others and share their wealth of memories and invaluable knowledge. Appreciate these people while we still have them.

  • There will be a remembrance candle burning for the duration of the show for those that have sadly recently passed. Forward any names you would like to have included.

Don’t be shy. Be there or be square. Don’t hesitate, this will be talked about for years, and later you’ll wished you had been part of the weekend!

If you want to make money on the weekend, forget it, you seldom make money out of poultry/pigeons. We’re here for a good time, restore friendships and share our passion for all things feathered.

All the information leading up to the show will be available on our website.
